Retail Therapy

The Toowoomba CBD is known as fashion headquarters but step into the suburban shopping centres and you’ll find each one has its own special boutiques.

You’ll find your favourite brand stores at the larger shopping malls.

Festivals & Fun

Whatever the month, we’ve got the special event.

From our biggest event, Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers and glamorous race days, high-profile fundraisers, performances and sporting carnivals to smaller festivals celebrating arts and crafts, country music, and of course, local food.

Our Escarpment Adventures

Toowoomba’s escarpment bushland along with state and national parks are great for adventure. Bushwalking, horse riding, trail-running and mountain biking are all popular activities that help keep the population fit and active.

A Drive in the Country

A short drive in any direction from Toowoomba will take you to the region’s farming communities where you’ll see broadacre crops, cattle, sheep, orchards as well as flower and vegetable farms. You’ll also discover that every town has its own unique historic and cultural qualities.

History

Stories from our region’s rich history are told through our museums including Cobb + Co Museum, and pioneer villages at Highfields, Crows Nest and Pittsworth. Most towns have local museums of their own and there's always something fascnating to learn.

Aborginal cultures are also represented throughout the region at places like Gummingurru Reserve and the Amaroo Environmental Education Centre - although you will have to book ahead for these.
