EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE

Education

When it comes to education, the proof is in the pudding. As a community we are proud of our past and present students who are doing what they love.

Many of our alumni are  excelling in their field because they were given the opportunity to stand out. In a smaller community, you are never just another number.

With around 60 state schools and 25 private schools, education is another economic driver in Toowoomba. In addition, the region benefits from leading tertiary education providers

the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) and TAFE Queensland South West.

Early Education

A variety of kindergarten, preschool and various developmental learning and early childhood centres ensure our littlest students are happy and thriving. A list of early education centres located in the city can be found at here

Primary School

The city is made up of both leading public and private primary schools. Many private schools have early childhood, primary and secondary schooling.

Secondary School

Choosing the right high school for your child is more than geography. Each of Toowoomba’s high schools has something unique to suit certain types of students. But one thing is for sure, the city is a central location for many sporting carnivals and school events.

Boarding Schools

Toowoomba has an excellent reputation as a boarding school town. Known for upmarket facilities and progressive programs, families from across Queensland, interstate and overseas choose to send their children to Toowoomba for their education.

Special Needs

We believe education is accessible to everyone. Toowoomba West Special School and Clifford Park Special School cater for the needs of children in our community who live with disability. Toowoomba Flexi-School, an annexe of Centenary State High School, has a diverse range of students with different needs.

Flexi School has earned a fine reputation for quality outcomes by engaging and working with youth through intensive case management to overcome disadvantage and poverty.
