Agtech and Logistics Hub at Wellcamp

The Future of Farming Innovation and Technology

The recently opened Agtech and Logistics Hub, located near Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport, is an exciting space available for collaboration between entrepreneurs, technology companies and farmers.

The Hub, which is jointly funded by the Queensland Government in association with the FKG Group, TSBE, University of Southern Queensland and the University of Queensland, is the first of its kind in Queensland.

The agriculture and food production industries are worth around $18.5 billion to Queensland’s economy and employ around 110,000 people state-wide with plenty of scope for innovation.

According to inaugural Hub Manager, Owen Williams, the new platform is about understanding the needs of farmers and food producers across Toowoomba and discovering how technology can help them grow the agricultural value chain.

“Toowoomba’s emerging and future agricultural and horticultural industries will be able to test cutting-edge technology and be confident in its ability before rolling it out on the farm,” he said.

“It’s a great platform and I think we’re going to see plenty of start-up businesses come through here. We’re going to meet challenges and we’re going to find solutions.”
