Nilesh Prasad is taking her career in economic development to new heights after a successful move to the Toowoomba region from Whanganui in New Zealand.

With her husband also looking to progress his career in secondary education, and two primary school aged children, Nilesh says Toowoomba offered an “all inclusive package” of opportunities for their whole family.

“The stars have really aligned for me,” Nilesh says. “I’m so glad we chose Toowoomba.

“The size and the location was just right for us in terms of growth and the next big thing.

“It wasn’t a huge leap, it was manageable.”

Nilesh says her family has saved money on housing and transport by choosing Toowoomba and has gained precious time to spend together.

“It’s just a good environment to raise kids and maintain that work family life balance,” Nilesh says.

“Not spending much time in the hustle and bustle of the city - it was an opportunity gain for us.

“We could utilise all that time, not sitting in the car in traffic, using it for work or family activities.”

Nilesh is now working at Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise as a Trade and Market Development Coordinator. She says she’s excited about her career trajectory and the opportunities that have opened up since relocating to Toowoomba.

“Similar to how we are linking businesses to opportunities and to the world, it’s similar for me in this space professionally and personally.

“The opportunities that are out here - I’m glad I’ve made the move, life is great.”
